Well do what you want man. If you want to improve on Alternate Picking. Learn & Practice the Alternate picking lessons. If you want to improve on some styles, and licks. Try some blues out, or just learn like the "In the Style of" lessons Malmsteen, Marty Friedman, Pavel, Iron Maiden.

What to improve on tapping or sweeping (maybe not sweeping yet), but just try and learn those lessons, and practice hard.

Always work with a metronome for timing, accuracy, speed, and consitancy.
Its up to you on what you want to do. Your question is pretty broad, but i hope that helps!!

Hey Sten,
They say if you plant a 4 foot tree and a 6 foot tree at the same time, water them the same and give them the same attention, in a few years they will be the same size
This is because they both are doing the exact same thing all the time and every day, the bigger tree looks better for awhile but gradually the little tree picks up on things and starts to catch up.

This site give you the opportunity to do the same thing as the trees, and that is grow. How big or good you are now has nothing to do with where you will be in a couple years, but how you practice does.

Don't spend precious practice time reading the post in the forum but do read them, learn from us, avoid our mistakes.

Find tabs on line for your favorite songs and learn some of them. If you can not play it all so what, your friends will still think its cool.

Read what you can in here about the mistake in picking that the bigger trees have made and avoid them. The alternating picking has done the most for my playing and I still can not play many of them up to speed, but I can play them right and that is all that matters now.
Good luck biggrin.gif

Yea also try out metal breakdown and misconception lessons. Your in luck because metal and its massive amount of subgenres are one of the most popular genres here at GMC.
