Must be a lefty thing, as Dick Dale does the same. And I recall having read that Jimi Hendrix also strung his guitar upside down.

I didn't know about this guy. I can see that he is strumming upside down too...I don't really see any sense or advantages in playing like this...I guess he was lefty and learned on a right handed guitar (without swapping the strings) and then stick to it...

Dan Swano from Bloodbath does it too. I always thought it was just plain weird.

Exactly that's what I think too. Looks weird when struming upside down though -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Watching him for a whole show was indeed pretty strange..... I heard that his technique helped do bigger bend on the high e-strings.... Don't remember where i red this tho...

Don't remember where i red this tho... that makes sense because it is easier to bend downwards. You just naturaly have more strenght. -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

I've seen Rogers on several occasions on Eric Clapton concerts. Most prominent one would be the Crossroads festival, you can spot him playing there as well.
Regarding playing, many players played like that, Albert King being on of them too. -------------------- - Ivan's Video Chat Lesson Notes HERE
