GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Some Concerns With My New Pod 2.0

Posted by: Praetorian Mar 18 2008, 02:40 PM

I got a new pod through all the great advice and recommendations from folks on this site...thanks a lot guys! My only concern is the sound quality on any note other than low E string is very "fuzzy" when I have it set to high distortion settings. I am quite positive it is because I am still using my piece of CRAP guitar...I haven't received my Yamaha Pacifica in the mail yet. Does anyone with a pod have this complaint? If not...it must be my guitar. It is a guitar with a speaker built into the body that I got when I was 15...about 15 years ago! blink.gif

This is what I first played the pod through...please don't laugh, my new guitar is coming!!

It has to be the crappy guitar that makes the pod sound fuzzy right?

it could very well be the guitar, or the instrument cable if you're using a cheapo instrument cable. Speaking of which, I need to go pick upa quality instrument cable as well tongue.gif.

I'm sorry to say it man, but it sure is one terrible guitar. smile.gif Nothing personal of course! ( I have a cheap guitar myself)

Regarding the pod.. I think it's the guitar. Have you tried any other guitar maybe?

No offense taken! I realize it is a junker! My friend is coming over with his Jackson on Thursday and we will give it a try. I'll let you know how it goes!

I didn't knew such guitar existed (with the speaker in it wink.gif ) It looks very interesting and cool name got too wink.gif I love Terminator movies wink.gif

About the fuzz , well if it makes that noise on all hi gain settings it must be guitar..Also you could be able to set on pod any tone you want (with little tweaking)..Don't expect factory setting to sound all good..You need them adapted to your gear etc.. wink.gif

Try out with a new guitar a tell us the results wink.gif

Cheers mate smile.gif

What a cool looking guitar, very unique! biggrin.gif But in answer to your question, I suggest you try it with some other guitar first or try to fiddle around with the pod settings (lowering gain or treble a bit) and see if that helps smile.gif

Like most others here.. i'll bet money on that it is the guitar smile.gif I've played some through a POD 2.0, and it sounds fantastic on my guitars. Even my Ibanez, which has the V8 pickups i normally think sounds bad.

That Terminator is s a seriously cool looking guitar though biggrin.gif Would love to have one of those hanging on my wall.

Probably the guitar..
I hate tweaking my POD 2.0, but there's always a good sound on all my guitars smile.gif
