GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Bands You Like But Feel Guilty About Liking?

Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Mar 29 2013, 02:09 AM

Hey guys! It's time for the truth... this is a thread for the ones that can have pink curtains in their bedroom and make a Vchat session to metal guitar players... biggrin.gif

I know that each of you have one of those bands that make you feel shy or guilty so you don't tell anybody that you like them...

You can write the names or even worse, post songs here. smile.gif

Justin Timberlake would be that one for me. It's not even close to my normal selection of music in the least.

I don't feel guilty because why should I? The music I like is the music that I like. Who care's if it's "lame" or what not laugh.gif

Same here, I can be rocking some Ashlee Simpson, Taylor Swift or Avril Lavigne or Keith Urban without embarrassment

You guys know me...I don't feel any embarrassement.

I like a bunch of songs by Tokio Hotel wink.gif , Lady Gaga, Adele, Taylor Swift and the likes.

I also like some K-Pop stuff.

Seriously, when music is catchy I like it.

I even liked a few parts of Skrillex's music when I saw him at Rock im Park. Some parts. Few parts actually.

@Gab: What is your guilty pleasure band?

Skrillex is amazing!

I'm not really embarrassed about this, except for when I have found myself singing with it in the car, especially when at a stop sign or red light.

One of the genres I listen to is contemporary Christian music, and there are quite a few groups I really like. But, on my iPhone I have a set list containing woman Contemporary Christian singer/song-writers that I really like their songs.

Anyway...

I love this girls voice - and this song >> INSERT EMBARRASSED SMILEY<<<

Not so much embarrassed or guilty because I genuinely think they're good, but I usually have to 'explain' when I say I like Sara Evans, Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, Lady Gaga or Katy Perry. I guess I could say (with the exception of Jason Mraz and Lady Gaga) that I like their song writers and producers.

The opposite comes into play as well. Who don't you like that everybody else seems to think is great?
For me it's - and I know you guys are gonna rip me - but it's Guthrie Govan. I think he's a great guitar player but I don't really dig his tone or his writing (yes I've seen tons of videos and heard many tracks - even seen him live more than once. I just don't get it - other than the technical virtuosity and he's a cool guy). There, shoot me.
