Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hey mate smile.gif

I think you are on the good path with this take wink.gif I would focus on the legato technique, in the direction of making all the notes sound even in terms of volume - the notes that are picked are louder than the ones which result after the pulloff.

Also, the right hand looks a bit rigid - relax a little and also, allow the thumb to rest relaxed on the guitar neck - don't let it stick out like that.

Around 0:25, there was a slight timing/definition issue - but I am sure it was due to lack of focus, as the rest of the lesson sounds good from this perspective.

Please focus on the volume of the notes as a primary thing.

All the best and keep rocking!

Cosmin

This is a good effort. Legato is a tough thing to learn and it's even harder to do it on a clean setting as there's not much sustain to work with.

Cosmin has given you the most crucial observations here. As he said;

Your picked note are very stark compared to the hammer ons and pull offs. The consistency of the volume (or velocity might be a better word) of hammer ons and pull offs is just something that can only improve the more you do it so just keep going with this lesson and this aspect will improve naturally, but only if you consciously try to improve the velocity and volume of these notes.

The cherry on top will be good timing so, even when you've got the volume sounding more consistent, never lose track of keeping good timing. Focus on those areas and you'll be back with an even better effort next time smile.gif

IT was a great suggestion from Gabriel to keep that time sharing Your progress with us smile.gif If You keep working so hard Your hand will get stronger and Your legato will sound more even. For now it's a bit too weak but it's not an easy technique (don't let yourself be fooled by playing on high gain distortion). Just hammer on technique is called this way because it has a lot to do with making a hammer of your finger. You need to imagine that while playing legato. Softly pressing on the fret will not deliver wanted result but of course it's very natural and time taking to get the level we speak about. Legato and alternate picking is actually sort of a sport where You need to practice to achive results and then keep practicing to keep good condition smile.gif
