Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

I keep practicing this one but wanted to put it in the Rec. Very nice lesson. I worked in the beginning part for 2 weeks with a metronome daily.

Cool to see you tackle these challenging lessons aggressively! 😤

Overall I would say you are playing the lesson correctly. However the feeling you convey here is that you are struggling to catch up, most notably with non-precise hand sync in the fast passages.

I think it's OK to attempt stuff that is beyond ones level (I am doing the exact same in my country practicing) - however I am a little bit worried you spend too much time playing the lesson at this tempo. If you do - you need to compensate with massive amount of "cleaning up" your technique.

I would say that if you want to be as time efficient as possible in your practicing - you would spend less time playing material that borders your ability, and instead focus on material where you can be totally relaxed and nail all passages. Then you can complement this with some jamming/experimenting where you try to push your limits - or try to play to a backing that is too fast for you.

Please note that this is just my opinion, I cannot assess anything with certainty just by judging from your REC takes. And I do see that you are making some amazing progress. So please take it with a pinch of salt.

Keep it up 👊

Hey Tim!

I love this one by Guildo! It's an excellent lesson.

You managed to do some of the twisted riffing quite fine. Main thing I've noticed refers to the center part groovign and it feels liek you have some delay in upbeats in the shuffle.

0:27....I wonder if this is your over-expression (pressing too much) or the loosen string on shorter measure of LP. These notes go out of pitch. Try to find out if it's you or the tuning itself. Maybe teh strings gauge is too small for you?

And...the biggest mistke tha any "grooving player" could do is...the middle part. Your right hand should strum continously and make a move down at every 8th note. In simplest words you hand is not dancing, and it's not breathing. You need to start her "grroving" and then just apple the moemnts of strums to particular moments in the bar to hit the strings.

Your right hand is confused and this is a critical error for this particualr lesson...and I'm telling you this because I know how much you like good groove in music smile.gif
