now im not talking about the 10 best bands youve ever heard, just the bands names =)
i dont know what it is about it but it just seems like bands with cool names seem to gain fans easier (most likely not a true point but i sure wish that was true)
so the question is, whats the top 10 coolest band names youve ever heard of? and once your done listing those feel free to put up your own cool band names, haha =)

sad.gif ... I don't want get banned for this, but one band I know of that have become reasonably well known, more for their name then music is _N_L C_NT. All you have to do is buy a couple of vowels...

Best band names I personally admire, in no particular order:

Cacophony

Children Of Bodom

Dream Theater

Gallows

Iron Maiden

Liquid Tension Experiment

Nevermore

Opeth

Racer X

Symphony X

They are actually called AC in many places because of name.

Yeah, the AC band has a funny name. FUnny songs aswell. Most fun is the people who say they think they are good though.

Anyways, I tend to like band names of bands I like, for example:

Opeth
Katatonia
Porcupine Tree
Anekdoten
Explosions in the Sky

Are awesome imo, but then again, I listen to some bands with super crappy band names:

Ulver
Novembers Doom
October Tide
Agalloch

They are all horrible band names that pretty much makes me want to puke, but somehow you start to ignore them when you listen to the music.

Some other good ones:

Smashing Pumpkins
Millencollin
Sanctrum

The Rolling Stones
Blind Guardian (I never heard of these guys until GMC.....great name)

I chose my list based on 2 things

1) how clever the origin of the name was to me (what it means)
2) names that I always wish I thought of first.
