Sometimes keeping it simple has its benefits. Check out Bear's new lesson, "Tom Petty: Free Fallin", and then post a reply to today's topic. So many successful songs have been written with 3 chords. What's your favorite 3 chord song?

It's a proven fact that guitar faces have a bigger impact on tone than wood does.

4 chord songs would be much easier to pick smile.gif
But a lot of Beatles and Stones songs consist of only three chords. Sweet home Alabama is another classic (okay, it has 4 chords), as well as Knockin on heaven's door (4 chords as well...)

"Louie Louie" was the first song I ever learned when I was a kid and it is only 3 chords. Simple and catchy... I think it was even a hit in it's time though I don't know for sure.
