Interests
Love all sorts of music especially blues. Used to listen to mostly electronic music but switched over to guitar music now, ever since I got into start learning guitar around 2004. My favorite players are Slash, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Metallica, and baddest of them all, Robert Johnson.

Back in the day, I used to work as DJ in college radio station. I used to listen to Joy Division, Smiths, 4AD and Brian Eno for his avant-garde ambient music. Most of those music were depressing as hell! :)

I need some advice in getting a drum machine. I have zero knowledge in this area.

I need something to jam with the band, and for my own practice. My band plays Oasis stuff, and I mostly play Blues and Rock.

Some questions:
1) How do you listen to the drum machine out loud? Do I need another amp, or do I plug it into existing “cd in” jack in my current amp?
2) How do you record the drum track in recording software? I use Toneport UX2 & Mixcraft. Do I plug it into input jack on Toneport UX2, like I do with my guitar?

I was thinking about these two models; let me know if these models are good fit for me. I’m looking for user-friendly model, so that I don’t have to spend tons of hours to figure out how to program darn thing.

Hi David,

I had so much fun practicing your Brian May lesson, and I am planning to practice your Jimi Hendrix lesson next.

Could I please ask for your suggestions for improvements on my take of your lesson? I played your lesson in 63 bpm.

Hi Ivan,

This is my take on you lesson. I used picks instead of fingers as my nails were getting all worn-out by steel strings. tongue.gif I played in 110 pbm.

I know there are couples of places in the middle where I was bit off tempo, and couldn’t hit nice clean chords.

Please let me know your suggestions for improvement.

Paul

Ivan, can I please request Robert Johnson style of lessons?

I just joined GMC, and I have been practicing your Slow Blues Solo in B Minor and Delta Blues Level 2. I love them both, and I have been practicing until my fingers are bleeding and nails are worn out (yeah, rock & roll, baby), but I would like to learn more of Robert Johnson style of playing.
