Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Picking Hand Basics by Ben Higgins

Okay here is my take on Ben's Picking hand basics. I seem to be having a problem uploading onto utube with the glitch's at the start? I'm using a new camera A65 sony which is 24mp with 60fps. Anyway I feel I've got a bit out of this lesson exspecialy jumping from 8th's to 8th's triplets.

Hey there zoom! I like the take as it sounds tight in ensemble, now, you are missing a few notes here and there, when shifting from the 8ths to the 8th triplets, so, maybe a little more practice should suffice to make it perfect! And it seems as if the guitar is a bit out of tune, so take care and check it before recording wink.gif Keep rocking!

The first thing is - tune your guitar:), it sounds unpleasant at some moments. The first part of exercise is good (eighth), but as Cosmin said, the shift in the sixteenth are giving you some problems. Try to slow down that part and slowly practice routine ,that's golden rule of any exercise wink.gif !

Well done, you played all the notes, but you have to maintain even picking dynamics and timing as well. These things should be covered on slower tempos, I think you rushed a bit while practicing. As the guys said, tuning your guitar (and adjusting intonation as well) will help you be 100% on the pitch.

Good job! I think you have missed a few notes but over all it was really good! Your timing was fine and picking was clear!

The only thing that I will add to my friends comments is that your right hand motion perfect! So, keep on practising the fastest parts concentrated on your timing and you will improve your playing a lot. wink.gif
