> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Awesome to see a REC take from you Nadeem!

I think you are doing good here. My main suggestions for improvement would be:

* Vibrato: start working hard on your vibrato. You should strive for a deep vibrato where the strength/movement comes from the arm/wrist rather than the fingers. Please note that for lower level lessons I don't factor vibrato into my grade.

* hand sync: on several occasions we can hear your hands are not well synced, and this result in bad tone. This usually comes from pushing speed too much when practicing, and it is best solved by slowing down the harder sections and make sure your hands are totally relaxed and in sync!

Keep up the hard work, you get a 6 from me - which is our passing grade. I am very excited to follow your progress and I am looking forward to your coming RECs! 😁

PS you might want to adjust your Youtube account settings, this is what I am seeing:

I accidently clicked 4 instead of 6!! I'll have it fixed. My bad!!

Welcome to the REC Program!! Great to see you jumping in!!! First off, congrats for memorizing all the licks and riffs needed to play this piece of music. Just completing a REC at all is a Victory IMHO. Even the easy one's can be a real challenge. They are all worth doing and each one will push your playing to a new level!!As Kris mentioned, I see your vibrato is a bit "shallow" which just means you are using the fingers intead of the entire hand and as a result the vibrato is not very deep. Vibrato is something that just takes time and practice. Try doing your vibrato a bit slower and "wider" E.G. more push and pull from the center tone. Here is a video I did where i focused on vibrato technique and it works as a good demo for "wide"/"Deep" vibrato. The first several licks have some good vibrato licks. Just for reference.

at about 39 seconds, it sounds like you don't quite bend to pitch. It's just maybe a little bit shy. Your tapping bit looks good though and over all I think you have a good handle on this REC. I think you are ready to move on and try something else. Solid 6 from me!!!!
Todd

Hi mate! Nice to find your take here!

I can say that this lesson is a great choice for you. The good sides of your playing here are that everything sound clean and with good timing. That's not a small thing my friend!

I can see that there is work to do with your bending and vibrato techniques. Both are not consistent yet. Your vibrato is a bit weak and needs to sound more natural, while your bending is not reaching the right pitch in many parts.

I usually recommend Beginners to check the first part of this video. Joe shares his approach to Vibrato and Bending in a very clear way. Check it out and let me know if you have any question.

I also would like to recommend you this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/neocla..._for_beginners/

Cheers!

Hey there!

Nice choice of lesson. Cool yet teechnically "affordable" with variety of articulation.

You sound very focused and a kind of carefull. At somepoints you coul play little harder - especially the tapping part.

You tend to cut the bends too early and you are missing a few cent in pitch to get to the right note pitch.

In both cases - bending and vibrato we use all finger behind the one that actually bends/vibrates. It makes string push/pull motion to share it's strengh consumption for multiple fingers. This way it becomes easier/softer to execute and control the pitch. I can notice how you release your left index finger from the fretboard while it could support other fingers in bending/vibrating. It is as simple as comparison to pushing the car alone or with a help of some friends smile.gif

Besides you do not make any critical mistakes. Your take is still very pleasant to listen even if it lack some of the "attitude" Muris has...but well...you're here to learn it right ?smile.gif
