We live in a world that goes by certain rules. Every person has different idea of what success is, and guitar players usually want their music to become famous, to be heard by a lot of people, to play in front of a lot of people.

Do you think this idea is out of reach for many because of sheer luck? Do you think anybody can become great if he really wants too? What are the ingredients for success except for sheer luck, what can we actually do about it?

How to become unique?
How to do something new?
How to push yourself higher then others?
How to make an effort?
What do you need to sacrifice because of that (usually this kind of success means sacrificing something that is considered "normal" in the system we live in)

let's see what kind of ideas we can gather on this topic to helps us all become more successful! smile.gif It can be anything, from your personal experience that helped you achieve some form of success. If it works for you, it will possibly help others too! smile.gif

The start point and key ingredient for achieving anything is knowing what you want. There's nothing more potent that a person who knows what they want and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. If your goals and ambitions are fragmented and unclear than how can you direct energy when there is no direction ?

Desire, a clear direction.. everything else follows from there smile.gif

The key ingredient is hard work and dedication. Without it, all the other factors are insignificant. Not one successful band made it without working hard and dedicating themselves to their skill.

Some great replies smile.gif Here is a very spiff article from ArtistHQ on myspace about this very thing. It's literally called, "Talent Alone is Not Enough" and gives you the five other elements you need. It's written by a guy who runs Music180 (an artist development platform)
