Yes, one of the best bands ever.

EDIT: that not unlike the waves vid you linked has cut down the song, it's much better in it's entirity.

EDIT again: If you like them, check out Ulver and their record bergtatt and Katatonia and their record Brave Murder day.

Ulver - Capitel I - I Troldskog Faren Vild http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNyIWBCFq5Y

Ulver - Capitel V - Bergtatt - Ind I Fjeldkamrene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2Qrz1dH6jc

Katatonia - Brave http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKmp10G1klo

Katatonia - Rainroom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uMij4bNJR0

Listen to these songs. You can't not love it.

yep, i really like them and i have two cd´s of them - in my opinion their album "the mantle" is the best...
if you like agalloch you should also check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGAZMDtrK4c ....
that´s the kind of music that i listen to in special moments - about a year ago i was very ill and believe it or not agalloch and tenhi somehow made me feel better...

Wow! Holy mother of Franklin! I really love the song "Not Unlike the Waves"!
I'm definetly checking out more of these, and all the other bands that's been suggested so far!
It's good to see something like this come out of the USA. Most bands that make music like this is Finnish ^^

Thanks a million for sharing =)

The other vid of the band Tenhi was just totally amazing! Awsome vid, awsome music. Didn't understand a word of it but norwegian ( it's norwegian ) sounds very cool! Best vid I've seen on youtube in a long time tongue.gif

They're Finnish tongue.gif

Finnish Metal is the best metal on the planet, no matter if they sing on their language or not, imo. So I gotta agree with you there tongue.gif

I strongly dislike the finnish language. And my opinion of finnish metal.. Except Swallow the Sun and Rapture I think it's all complete poo.

Anyways, since this thread is about agalloch, what do you think of The White? I absolutely love it, definetly one of the best releases this year, if not the best.

EDIT: Oh, I realised Ikuinen Kaamos shouldn't be called complete poo, since they're probably the best finnish band, but apart from those rolleyes.gif (and the 500 other bands I'm probably forgetting about)

One of the best, indeed. I'm buying that one for sure!
I especially like the songs Birch White and Sowilo Rune on that album.

You have to buy it from ebay then, since Agalloch are idiots when it comes to ep's and only prints really few copies of them.

That's not cool..
I'll rather see if I can buy it digitally then, since I don't wanna overpay for something on eBay tongue.gif

Well, they have said they don't mind people doing something I cannot speak about on gmc rather than buy it from ebay, so I suppose you could try to find alternative ways of getting it. Otherwise they aren't that expensive on ebay, compared to some of their older EP's.

Or well, I suppose you already got it in some weird ways ("borrowing it from a close personal friend"), so..
