Let share folk music from our cities!

An Alaskan band not really folk per se though.

Jewel started out doing some stuff that I guess you could call folk music.

And finally my old friend Paul Pike (Vocals and acoustic guitar) and his band Medicine Dream which has elements of Native Alaskan music.

Well there are loads of bands from my area, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Priest etc but local folk music is difficult to find.
Here is the official Black Country anthem, a Black Country version of the patriotic classic, I Vow to Thee My Country .
The anchor you see is the one that was the centre anchor for the Titanic. The train that you see at 1:38 may confuse as there is an American flag in the picture, the train is The Stourbridge Lion. It was the first locomotive to be operated in the United States, and one of the first locomotives to operate outside Britain. It takes its name from the lion's face painted on the front, and Stourbridge in England, where it was manufactured in 1828.

Awesome guys! Thanks for the links! I'll check each of them later. I love listening to music from different parts of the world. Keep the links coming!!

As you've shared some metal stuff I'd like to share a local band that combines Argentinian folk music with metal. Don't miss the opportunity to check them:

Well, Los Angeles is relatively 'new'. The trad folk music here would be Northern Mexican (Norteno) music ... which is super popular given that the Hispanic population here is well over 25%

Los Tigres Del Norte ...

Ritchie Valens (the Vera Cruz style of Son Jarocho) ...

And of course this was born in L.A. ...
