Anyways, when I'm trying to do a pulloff, either I can't pulloff well enough to get a nice, sharp sound or when I do I end up striking the string below. I'm also a new player (been playing since fathers day 2007) but I can tell you that unless it sounds really bad(you get some nasty twangs or something like that) then what you need is practice. Your hands are not used to the movements and need the muscle meory and the strength to do the pulloffs. I'm currently practicing AC/DC's back in black and I know exactly what you mean, the three pull offs right after the three opening chords (and they repeat) are kind of a pain to get right for me, I can make them sound OK but doing that and keeping time with the music is the hard part. But I've only tried learning the song since monday and already it sounds better than then. Practice practice practice, if you have some free time, practice some more, lol. Just don't hurt your hand. Ya, it doesn't sound horrible, its just that you can hear the my finger hitting the other chord. Just wanted to make sure it was because I need to practice alot. Thanks again. It might be that you're actually not "Pulling-off" the string, but just removing the finger, and thats why it wont sound that much. Remember that a pull-off is when you not only remove the finger, but you make the string sound by removing it not upwards, but like horizontally. I dont think i explained this correctly, i dont know how to.
