Hey Muris!

I just saw your Neo-Classical solo and i couldn't pass by this question: besides being a killer guitarist, do you have any real education and degree from university or something? I mean the high education?

Looking at your skills i am trying to imagine the amount of time i need to get something like that, and i am comparing it to the current amount of time i have for practicing left after university -> looks pretty impossible smile.gif

So, do you have any degree in any area?

Only music high school, not university. smile.gif
But the truth is,most of my practicing I did during elementary and high school,
luckily(read sadly if you wish) I had nothing else to do... rolleyes.gif
I did attempt Music Academy for one year but there's no guitar department so I quited,
I loved all theory stuff etc but it was too much of piano for me at that point. ohmy.gif

I've heard that Academy does have guitar department now but only classical,
which just isn't my way of living.

So after quiting Academy I went into pro's,to make a living of it
and that's when practicing usually stops I'm afraid to say...
I'm not talking of famous pro players, giging topics and schedules
push them to practice all the time,
but when you're local pro player(hired gun) then you have to do/play
many things that you don't enjoy a lot,and it's all related to music.

Still,I'm trying to keep further and build myself,
not to stay on current level, something like that. smile.gif

Thanks for your interest Pavel, hope I explained it a bit!
By the way,try to spend educational part of like as better as possible,
later on you'll see that many responsibilities are standing on our ways,
I've found that educational part the best, good luck!! smile.gif

I just think that i don't practice much or good enough so i had to know about your educational period of life. Man you're good at guitar...

I just see that UNI is taking all the time from me and when i get home i am too wasted to pick up the guitar sad.gif sad.gif

Anyway, great job on your music career! Carry on smile.gif

I'm on high school now! I'm 14 so that's prety normal around here. BTW we call it middle school, and the university is high school.
In Holland you can devide the degree's on "middle school" in three levels:
MAVO, HAVO and VWO

Mavo is for people who are going to be woodworker or garagekeeper, nothing wrong with. I respect those guys, working their buts off! you're doing a good job!

HAVO is the degree needed for higher education on the "high schools" . You need it to get the degree just under university. You can almost achieve everything with it.

VWO, this study takes six years (HAVO is 5 and MAVO is 4 years). From VWO you can go directly to the university. I'm in VWO, 3th grade and I'm 14 now, I could go to uni when I'm 17 tongue.gif .
I don't think I'm gonna do that but that's another story.

EDIT: WOOPS I didn't know the question was for Muris only..sorry above this line, I wrote a little answer but that's gone now.

As said I do VWO and problably uni later.

I'm with Pavel. Muris you rock the house man. Great example of what a man can do when he puts a lot of hard work into it - in your case it's the guitar, and you've done a hell of a job - respect.

Thanks Ivan. smile.gif

It is really all about hard work and practicing, nothing much.
I like to say 99% is hard work and 1% is motive to do it,maybe I'm wrong, dunno.

Hy Muris,
I'm sure it's about hard work.
I'm trying to work as hard as I can and I think I'm having some results.
But in your case I'm sure that a good share
of that 99% is also pure musical talent.
I agree with everyone else in here,
you're amazing and a great inspiration.

Have a nice day.

HI Muris I have one question .I understand that only practice can make you a guitar player ,but all the tricks what you know you must have somebody to show you how to do it. When I was 13 or 14 I take guitar classes the teacher barley could play the guitar. He was playing piano, trumpet and he was a bass player in the band. All he was teaching is classic guitar with out TAB’s only notes .How you figure all the trick out? The way you play the guitar you are a lot better player than a lot of fames guitar players .I wish you all the best Muris. smile.gif

Hi Frank smile.gif

To be honest with you,I've done most of my learning by ear.
That way you have to practice more, since you're figuring out stuff by ear,no tabs.
More practicing,more listening...result must be there. smile.gif
