What's your favorite setup?

Think you forgot H-S-H wink.gif

Posted by: rokchik Oct 22 2007, 05:10 AM

I don't have a lot of experience with them all but the H-H is what's on my LP and I love it. Such a brilliant tone.

You really don't come across H-H-H all to often. I have mostly seen them on certain Gibsons.

Posted by: The Uncreator Oct 22 2007, 05:31 AM

HSH All the way, to me, it produces the best sound with the most versatility.

Posted by: Robin Oct 22 2007, 05:39 AM

H-H, but I also like singlecoils. I dont really have much experience with this though.

But nowdays I only play acoustic anyway smile.gif

Guys,
You might want to look at the PRS 513. It's got 5 pick ups for 13 combinations. Pickups are 2xS S 2xS with the 2xS capable of acting as humbucker or you can select as single coil - so with the exception of a H H H I think it can nail all the options...

Cheers,
Tony

ps personally H H is my fav - nice and simple so I don't have to think too much smile.gif. 13 options I wouldn't know where to start tongue.gif

For now it's H-S-H, but as soon as my RC7 arrives it will be H-H, and i bet it will be better because nothing will be under the strings where the single-coil usually is. Single-Coil is a really weak pickup so you have to rise it almost to the strings to get the volume equal to humbuckers, so when you play, you actually hit the pickup with the pick and that's what drives me crazy, so i just lowered it as much as i could - i don't use it anyway.

I like the Nile Custom Dean.. the setup is H. .. it doesn't even have a volume nob.. Just 1 humbucker and thats it smile.gif

exactly my problem... The plastic shell of the singlecoil is already carved in a bit mad.gif

My Ibanez is HSH and I really like the versatility of that set up , my Carvin is HH and I don't miss the single coil sound when I play it. HH for me as I don't use the single coil unless playing clean.

HH and HSH...expected with the orientation towards LP's and modern Ibanez guitars here.

I voted SSH. Will show why soon. I'm excited. biggrin.gif
