So, waking up early today, I felt a bit nostalgic with the Linkin Park discussion I had on the other forum I am frequent with. It brought back a lot of memories of middle school and high school and how this band have been with me all these years. Yea, as a Metalhead, I should be embarrassed to say that I use to like Linkin Park, but there music really reminds me of my teen years. I've been watching all these music videos of Linkin Park and how I use to love Hybrid Theory and Meteora. I still remember all the words, and singing along to them makes me a bit sad. Linkin Park had always been there for me, musically.

So, my question to you is, what band or songs or albums makes you feel nostalgic. And care to share us?

There's quite a few Vince (it's my age I guess rolleyes.gif ) but just a couple that stand out more:

Stevie Wonder's Songs in the Key of Life - always makes me nostalgic for the summers when I was a young boy. The sort of summers that you wanted to last forever and where you didn't really have a care in the world.

Joy Division's 'Unknown Pleasures' - same sort of thing but it's a nostalgia for when I was a teenager and first started to go to see groups gigging with mates. Not just memories of the gigs but also the places and people whom I met. A nostalgia for those dark, dingy, dirty clubs that were crammed full of people - way more then the fire license allowed - all in to the same music. Even a nostalgia for having to travel in to the city centre to go to the gigs whilst dressed in bondage and having a series of run ins with 'straights' on the way and then having to walk home as the late night buses had finished and we had spent all our money. Happy times biggrin.gif .

Cheers,
Tony

There's two songs I can think of

Aerosmith - Don't want to miss a thing, Armagedon was the first movie I ever saw in the movie theater and the song allways reminds of that time.

Stained - Outside, this was the song that really made me want to learn to play the guitar, and at the time I thought it was complicated but I managed to learn it after a couple of months.

Oh, I also get nostalgic feelings from Linkin Park when I think of it. I always disliked them, but there's a song with them that was in a PvP movie from wow that I loved watching just a few years ago, and I think of that when I hear that song now, it's the one with Jay-Z, whatever the name is.

I'm "only" 17, so I don't really have that many memories to look back on yet, but whenever I hear Red Hot Chilli Peppers (Especially By the Way), I think about the time when I was younger =)
