MESA Engineering has released the BADLANDER. It's the modern successor to the legendary RECTIFIER series. Make no mistake, this amp is built for Metal. It's a more modern, tighter amp. It's built to chugg and for searing lead tone. It comes in a 100 watt/50 watt20 watt switchable head. (There is also a 50 watt combo)

The ability to switch the head from 100 to 50 to 20 watts changes how the amp sounds. The 20 watt setting is "Triode Wiring". Reducing the wattage reduces the headroom on the amp and delivers more harmonic complexity and changes the character of the overdrive. The badlander also makes use of EL34 tubes in the power section. There is a switch on the back of the amp that yields a more traditional power section sound if that is what is desired. These tubes yield a bit tighter low end and new character on the top end. According to Mesa that is I have yet to try one of these but after seeing some vids I'm really looking forward to it.
Also it has a USB jack to let you load any IR you want in to the internal cab clone.

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE TRIED ONE OF THESE?
