It seems like when i start the metronome its going at a fast bpm, but when i start playing with it, it seems like its slowed down... I know it hasnt, but it just seems like it...
Does this happen to anyone else?

Yes.
Probably because you've switched to the other side of your brain.
The two brain hemispheres deals different with time. Or so I've heard.
But, yeah. I've noticed. wink.gif

QUOTE ("Steve Vai")
Start by playing something - a bend, a riff, a scale, a song - very slowly; if you make a mistake, start over; do this over and over, until you can play it flawlessly - and I do mean flawlessly - many times in a row. Next, gradually increase the tempo. Eventually you'll be flailing like a madman.

Haven't really thought about it/ noticed it myself. Must be the time it takes between thinking "Right let's start playing soon.." and "Let's get down to business!"

Well when I think about it yes it seems that way...I don't know maybe you get much more concentrated on doing stuff between the clicks to actually feel like time is slowed down..It happens to me a lot of time on gigs , I get so concentrated on everything that is going on that time actually slows down in my mind wink.gif heheh
ok its wierd smile.gif

Well, I think Bogdan is spot on. That's what happens. Time is somewhat of an individual thing as well. I remember scoring a goal once as a goalkeeper when coming forward on a corner. We had to get a draw in the game, and we got it because I scored, but the moment it took for the ball to get to the net felt like about 30 sec, though it was probably only 1,5. wink.gif

Maybe you are spider man, but in a guitar sort of way, and you have a guitar sense that slows down the metronome so you can shred.
