Only my opinion, but isn't it possible to learn it by ear or watching the guys hands?

well then i guess we dont need this site at all. you just explained the answers I have long been chasing. Thank you for your wisdom. why the heck then are their hundreds of lessons just like the one i'm requesting on this site if all we have to do is watch the hands and use the ear. why are you here if you think the lessons are nonsense?

Beautiful song. Another point what seems to be your adversary in this discussion missed, is that GMC lessons also provide backing tracks that are masterfully assembled by the instructor, and most likely at different speeds. The lesson will also provide you with advice on how to practise the song, and the varying backing speed will accomodate this need.

I love Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment, and do believe it's time to get some "popular songs" lessons in this field of music. smile.gif Good luck with your lesson request, oh shatter'd one. smile.gif

Yes let me add......the backing tracks on GMC lessons are always so very well done. Keep it up instructors. It's so fun playing our lessons with bass and drums.

I beg to differ (in the most kindred of spirits). This lesson, although requested by shatterd, is not uniquely available to him. If I request a lesson in the style of Winnie the Pooh the request should be considered even though I am into instrumental and metal. His level of playing is irrelevant, although people instinctually consider lesson requests a potential waste of the instructor's time.

That's possible, but an instructor makes your work heck of a lot easier, and besides you can ask questions afterwards,

Best way to learn something is by watching other play it, not by checking tabs. This is why these lessons would be very useful. It's always the little things in other's (more experienced player) that reveal so much. Not having tabs can be advantage in that case.
