GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Technical Death Metal

Posted by: Owen Dec 6 2007, 05:28 PM

Is there perhaps any chance of seeing some stuff in this style in the future? I know Kris was once in a death metal band himself so it seems strange that we still have no lessons for the darker side of metal, there is a large contingency of people here who love bands like Opeth and various other death metal acts like Cannibal Corpse and Nile, I think it would be great to see some really surging lessons in this style! cool.gif

Anyone agree? smile.gif

Hi Owen, not sure if any instuctors saw or have done/planning any lessons yet but there was a request for this http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=8528&hl= smile.gif

This would be great. If someone could do some death metal or technical metal lesson or group of lessons.

Good idea. I personally think technical metal is very boring, but it will be a challenge to learn and I bet there are many people on GMC that wants these kind of lessons.

GMC needs as many styles as possible imo, also black metal and other extreme metal styles.

Does anyone know if any of the instructors are keen on death metal and other extreme technical metal music and if they could apply it to a lesson? It would be great if it could be done.

To my knowledge none of the instructors so far have expressed any interest in this type of music, I was just wondering if perhaps Kris had recieved any interest from people wanting to do death metal type stuff, which, upon seeing the topic Smells linked too he obviously hasnt, which is a bit of a shame. ohmy.gif smile.gif

I think that Fabian said that he played in a death metal band or liked it at least, but I don't think that he's made a lesson his two-handed tapping one. sad.gif

I was just on another thread and the member david bond said he was trying to become an instructor. Hes into his technical extreme metal. I wonder if kris heard off of him as he is a sick guitarist from the vids i have seen.

Yeah, a tech death metal lesson would be great. Allthough, some oldschool death lessons would be even better, but yeah, we definetly need more extreme metal stuff here.

yea, stuff like "in the style of Children Of Bodom" would be cool... (okay, more a melodic-death band) smile.gif
