Hi Oliver! Welcome to your mentoring thread! Here I'll help you with your metal journey.
Before we start, I'd like to know a bit more about you.
- How many time have you been playing guitar?
- Favorite guitarists, bands and musicians.
- What are your guitar goals?
- How would you like to you see yourself in 5 years (related to music and guitar)?
- How many time can you play guitar each day?
- Do you have playing live experience?
- Which are your strong and weak points with guitar?
- What do you know about music theory?

Hi Gab,
i am learning and playing for about a year.As is said i have the basics down.
My favorite guitar player is Dimebag Darrell.My goal is to play like this legend.
In 5 Years i want to be at an intermediate level.Play all pantera riffs in and out.Also all black sabbath and rammstein riffs.At this time i could see my enter the stage for the very first time.
I learn and play every single day.
No live experience yet.
My strong point is palm muting.
The weak points are rhythm and timing.
I know what whole notes,halfnotes,quarter notes,8th notes, 16th notes are and how to count them.Triplets are also easy.But when their get shuffled for example 8th notes with 16th notes, division etc, it gets harder for me to understand.
I can record videos but i feel not ready to do so at this time.
