Check out Piotr's new lesson: "http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Beginner-Spring-Tune/", and then post a reply to today's topic.

Do you have a specific songs you like to play during certain times of the year? Does the weather dictate your style sometimes?

About the only thing weather-wise that affects what I listen to is rain, when It rains, I almost always listen to Epica. Other than that, nothing else really comes into play.

I'd have to say that the sun definitely affects my playing. If it's warm and sunny my playing has a more positive and progressive style to it.

Nice topic! I also have some special feeling when it's raining. I think that it's when I enjoy listening the most emotional type music. Today it's raining here and I'm hearing instrumental ballad by talented guys like Vinnie Moore, John Petrucci & Steve Vai. smile.gif I also like to hear acoustic music when it's raining... like Andy Mckee, Justin King and Andrew York.

Antonio Vivaldi did a great job. This is for people living in the northern hemisphere right now

Seriously, there is no relationship between what I listen to and the current season/weather. mellow.gif

Good call ! smile.gif What a masterpiece. Did you ever hear the Uli Jon Roth album 'Metamorphosis', where he performs the entire 4 Seasons with a small chamber orchestra ?

His guitar playing really does sail close to the emotion of a violin, it's unreal smile.gif

I don't think the seasons or weather generally influences my playing.. but I would say that sunnier weather makes me feel happier and I can only compose when I'm happy so I guess that's when all the good tunes come out. smile.gif

However, I'm going to contradict myself and say that the winter landscape is incredibly inspiring... although the cold doesn't inspire my fingers to want to move mellow.gif

"Last Christmas" comes to mind...
Seriously, the weather doesn't really affect my playing, this is only affected by my emotions. But as the weather sometimes has an influence on my emotions, I think it also influences my playing that way...I gotta go and think about this wink.gif

Weather really influences my composing and listening habits. I like to listen to happy positive songs when it's sunny! smile.gif
