GMC Forum _ Techniques (Muris) _ Lesson Request

Hi Muris,

I took your advice when you mentioned that if I like Andy Timmons, I might like Guthrie Govan. I DO!! He's quite great. I was wondering if you could do an "In The Style of Mr. Govan" lesson.

I'm sure you've seen this video, but I'm really looking to find out what he does at around 1:14. Sort of that "slurring" shreddy ascending/descending technique. Is he doing what you do in your "Stamina Lesson - Speed Bursts" Lesson? I really dig that Hybrid picking Govan does, too. If not a lesson, I'd love to hear your thoughts on his speedy technique.

Oh, that would be awesome smile.gif
Guthrie is such a good player, groove, vibrato, technique, new fresh sounding ideas and he is like a dictionary for licks biggrin.gif

There's a problem with Guthrie's style,
he has absorbed sooo many styles and techniques
so it might look like he doesn't have his own at all laugh.gif

But I know what you mean tho, will do my best. smile.gif
