So when I got back from good old Blackpool after my rest I went to Bloodstock Festival in the UK and it was amazing. I will do a full review of bands I saw when I get chance but the ones that kicked arse were

Destruction
Helloween
Iced Earth
Dimmu Borgir
Soilwork
Kataklysm
Swallow The Sun
Grand Magus
Evil Scarecrow
Praying Mantis
Napalm Death
TYR
Primal Fear

But the two bands that blew me away and will always stick with me are Overkill who totally took me back 20 years with their blistering set. I was headbanging the whole way through and going crazy but my favourite band of the 3 days was

AT THE GATES \m/

Last ever UK tour sad.gif And boy did they deliver. Material off every album and everybody went mental. The first song of the encore was Blinded By Fear one of my all time fav metal songs and it was insane. A great weekend away with friends was had smile.gif

How was Tyr? Was there set boring? There music doesn't really transcribe to a live performance, at least thats what happened during Paganfest.

Soilwork were intense. Crazy pits and they had so much energy. The front guy is quite scary lol. He looks about 7 foot tall biggrin.gif Definitely in my top 10 bands of the festival.

Swallow the sun weren't everyones cup of tea but they had some really heavy riffage and the singer was insane. I would like to see them in a smaller venue.

They were cool. I know their songs really well and while I'd admit they weren't astounding live it was good to hear them playing the songs live. I enjoyed their set a fair bit.

I would to have loved to have seen that. Any chance of you playing it again? It's so much better than Download in this country. It was so much fun and it is a small festival and there are no idiots or relatively few compared to other festivals.

You'd definitely love it. People who go once tend to go back every year. A great crowd.

What songs did they play? Or that might be to much to ask. I'm still annoyed for not affording to see them last year when they played here.

Yeah I'm not sure on that one as I hadn't really listened to them before the festival. Sorry about that sad.gif
