I`m about to buy myself a p-bass for some money I don`t have, but I want to customize it a little bit to make it stand out.

You can see pictures of the pickguards under:

EDIT: Black body, maple neck. 100% std!
Thanks for helping biggrin.gif

If it has anything to say, I`m currently playing bass in no more than three rock bands... just to tell where the style is tongue.gif

Phily Lynnot chrome style or keep it white with the factory pickguard, everything else would look bad!!!

Imho a P-Bass is a traditional instrument with a classic look that shouldn't be meesed up by bright colours and stuff...

I think it all depends on what colour the Body and Fretboard are!

Forgot to mention!

Black body, maple neck

100 % std

And kinda agree with ZakkWylde, I don`t want any too fancy colours in there. But it would be pretty funny with a cowgirl on the guard laugh.gif (funny was not the word I wanted to use, but I don`t know of any translations for the norwegian word "harry")

Voted for the Lynnot chrome style !

I kind off agree with Zak also. Any of those others would just be tacky imho.

"Think of a guitar solo as a paragraph. You need a clear beginning, a middle, and an end. Look at musical phrases like sentences, and make sure you break them up using punctuation—or space. You pause naturally when conversing, right? If you don't, you'll bore the listener. The same thing will happen with your audience if your solo is one dimensional. You'll wear them out and lose their attention." —Tom Principato

I think classic white pickguard would look best but I voted for "orion nebula" since it looks cool smile.gif hehehe But I think its best to go with standard white or in color of the maple fingerboard.

id say eiter chrome or orion nebula, and btw it might be tacky for other gutiarists but other people will just appreciate the cool pick guard, thogh i gotta say if you had rosewood any of them would be perf but the maple kinda gives it an old school look

I voted for the Lynnot chrome pickguard. On a black body it will look awsome.

I saw Phil with this in about 1978 at Liverpool Empire. He had a neat trick. He would use the mirrod pick guard to reflect a spotlight back onto the audience picking out people in the crowd.

I'm the wrong guy to ask, as my bass is black with a white pick guard. I'm a traditionalist, it seems, as I prefer classic guitar shapes, and not too much garish stuff. However, the Lynnot chrome is pretty cool. The rest looks like what you'd paint on the nose of a World War II bomber. I kinda dig that transparent one, a bit, though. That might look kinda cool.

1) You play in a rock band?

2) You're being advised to go conservative and traditional?

I didn`t quite get that one tongue.gif

But yeah, I play in a couple of rock bands, and most guitar players I play with tend to like it traditional.

But I like to stand out a bit laugh.gif , which is why I`m even considering that nebula pickguard
