I was doing some research on what it takes to create and run a youtube video channel and ran across this video. I thought it might be some good information for those of you running your own channel.

in a nutshell, the video covers how youtube ranks and decides how to promote your videos, what it looks at to determine if you're site is worth including in other site feeds (recommended videos), the benefit of cards and playlists, etc.

it's a bit long, but i think worth your time if you really want to get your youtube views up.

A great vid smile.gif Starting a youtube channel can be daunting. At first, it's very hard to get traction. But hang in there and keep making vids. The vids will eventually find their audience and follow the tips in this vid and you will be able to build your audience. One of our own members, Brandon Burch has grown his youtube channel from nothing to quite a following.

Here is another good one where another guy actually grabbed the original guys video and put it in his video and he got almost 5 million views out of it.

I"m sorta surprised that this thread didn't get more response than it did. That vid you shared is quite good and spells out what to do and why. It is a bit long, which is probably part of the issue. I've noticed that youtube has trained us to watch videos in 3 minute intervals roughly. smile.gif However, like learning guitar, learning to grow one's social media presence takes time and effort. Also, starting from scratch can be daunting these days on youtube as it's tough to get a foothold. I have noticed that many folks under use their youtube page imho which is a lost opportunity to be sure as most folks find new music via youtube these days more so than any other media outlet.

I have been stoked to see our own BRANDON BURCH pursue his youtube channel to great effect and grow it in to something with real momentum in a fairly short time from a standing start. To wit, here is a link to his youtube page just to show that it can be done, even if you are just starting now.

**BRANDON HAS 15,000 SUBSCRIBERS BTW!!! Way to go!!!
