Those are every inspiring threads-

I was also inspired by the idea you had to analyse the melodic aspect of different shredders. Though I am not sure I would be able to do such an analysis myself.

I think it's more so their small nuances, i.e. how Marty Friedman used to bend from notes outside of the scale, or how Gilmour might use more bends than other guitarists in the same genre.

I didn't see the whole stream, as I was doing some other things meanwhile, but I checked in once in a while. I'll see if I can do a lesson stream on FB and post it on GMC soon. As we talked about in PM smile.gif

Kris, that was a really great video with awesome advices!!! smile.gif Your explanations are always so cool that even a person who have nothing in common with music, will go to a store to buy a guitar and learn to play. biggrin.gif
Seriously, you have that gift to make things seem much easier than they are and I always loved this thing. It spreads an extra power for every person which is in the learning process. smile.gif

BTW...related to shredding and gain.
As you know I always use a tiny amount of gain in my tone and every time when I decide to use a very long fast run in my takes, it require a lot of work to make it sound good. So...I have a trick which always works great for me. smile.gif
Beside the normal approach for practicing a run, I also make an additional practice with the guitar unplugged. It's a really good way to verify myself how much I control the sound for each note picked and also the strength that I use for every accent.
If my ears are happy with the result unplugged, I have no doubt that will sounds really great with the guitar plugged. smile.gif

Awesome to hear Monica! 🤩

Playing unplugged is a great suggestion, I will mention it int he future.

Actually that's how I got started with my current (dry!) tone. I got totally sick of all the effects I was constantly adding, so for 6 months I only practiced unplugged.

It was at the bottom of the post during the Live session, but I don't know if YouTube live feeds work directly on the forum. It was giving that same error where you have to click into YouTube to see it. Link was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI3Oi8-dC1g (same as in Kris' opening post now).
