I can play bass better than a few other bassist performing, and maybe even keys to some extent, but that is all on a very basic level. But I'm trying to learn the keys currently!

same here, maybe in a few years, now, in reality I can't sing good, although I try.

Bass is my primary instrument and I can get around guitar too since I played it for few years...I played keys a long time ago but I can't consider them counting in like guitar..
 I don't think a pro musician has to play more than one instrument..If he is good on his primary one he will get the job

It comes with the territory I would say.
Specially when you're composing a lot or recording, you just have to know how other instruments work. And naturally you start to play them a bit,yeah,it's good to know some basics or even more.

I'm fairly good at programming various instruments, .. if that counts
But if someone places me behind a real drumkit, it's going to sound like trashcans falling over, in a very non-rhythmical way.. and few people have heard me sing, and walked away with their sanity still intact. So as far as real instruments goes, other than guitar and to some extent bass, i'm relatively useless
