I've recently seen a guitar very similar to (instructor) Pavel's guitar.
an Ibanez JEM7v :

neck type - 3pc JEM neck
body - Alder body
fret - W/6105 frets
bridge - Edge Pro bridge
neck pu - DiMarzio® Evolution® (H) neck pu
middle pu - DiMarzio® Evolution® (S) mid pu
bridge pu - DiMarzio® Evolution® (H) bridge pu

It costs abou 2500$. Isn't that a little expensive? (a sincere question, i have no idea)

if not this, i'll look for a Gibson SG.

Currently i have a standart fender stratocaster.

Is it an Ibanez guitar? The pick ups are great.

Seems a little high... http://www.music123.com/Ibanez-JEM7V-Steve...150755.Music123

It's listed there for $2,200.

I wouldn't say a good price...good for me would be about $10..

But seriously- yeh i'm fairly sure thats the standard price a Jem will set you back- here in the UK we have to pay quite a bit more- so consider yourself lucky!!

That's exactly the same as Pavel's guitar (unless he got an earlier model with an Edge Temelo rather than the Edge Pro).

Fantastic guitar and yes, that is how much it costs.

In the U.K. the going rate is about £1,400 which is about $2,700 sad.gif

Yes it is an Ibanez. Here is a link to the review: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...?showtopic=4862

thanks for all of the replys.

my second option is a cheaper one:

Gibson SG 61 REISSUE

with 57' classic humbuckers and a mahagony neck..

it's 2300$

(I live in israel, so the price here is in NIS but i'm translating it to $)

OR

a gibson les paul standart 60's neck
whichcosts a little more- 3000$...

IMO they are both great guitars but very different.
The JEM (to me) is more screamy and cutting the SG more thuddy and crackely (it's hard descrbing sounds!)
Also the JEM has 24 frets, locks on the strings and a tremelo system, the SG doesn't.

I recommend you play both and go for which one you prefer the feel and the sound of - you have to try it out yourself really to know.

I think he just meant the price,

I`m not a huge fan of the Jem or Ibanez in general, its all horses for courses really, ya gotta try them all out especially at that higher end of the market, you may be suprised at what you walk away with sometimes.

I'm sure a lot of people are going to disagree with me on this one...but if you're going to get the Les Paul Standard I recommend you try out the Les Paul Studio as well as it is a lot cheaper and personally I prefer it (although willing to accept most people prefer the Standard)

What sort of style do you play?

I too have a Jem 7v and it is an awesome guitar, but you do pay a premium for it.

If you want osmething that is pretty much as good for a cheaper price look at Ibanez prestige ranges, also check out my review of the Jem here:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...?showtopic=4862

Its hard to beat if you want a fast guitar with a versatile sound, on the other hand, to me it doesn't have its own personality like an LP or a Strat.

For Shred it is to be aspired to, for other styles - Meh, it works fine but may not be right for you.

I personally have not regretted a second of its ownership, it is extremely high quality and plays great!

I was thinking of buying a JEM. But then I tested Ibanez prestige RGT 320q. ohmy.gif This one is almost in JEM price range, but it is a even better guitar in my opinion. In other words, you do not pay the extra for being signature...

By the way, here in Denmark I paid about the german price. In Brazil it would have been the Norway price or more blink.gif

Just forget about the Jem and get the Les Paul wink.gif No, seriously, as the others already said, the price seems to be normal, but as always, my advice would be to try all of those guitars and then pick the one that you like most in the end.

Here the RGT 320q http://www.giggear.co.uk/home/index.php?m=...amp;prodid=3715 is more expensive than the JEM?!?

The RGT 320q looks really cool, but doesn't have any single coils (I prefer the pick-ups in the JEM too smile.gif )
