To me this sounds like DOwn, or Pantera?

Can you give us some hint, Jonas?

Yes, I can give some hints: the band name consists of two words, and the first word ends with "M".

They mostly play progressive stuff, so a 4/4 riff is an exception for them:)

This sounds like RATM, but I don't remember this exact song smile.gif
It's awesome btw.

Thanks! The credit goes to the band's guitarist*, I've just learned and played it:)

It is from one of my favorite bands. I have recorded this riff 5-6 years ago, and added bass and drum samples too, in order to aim the sound of the original.

No guesses yet...

Another hint: the band's name is D.... T...... (note the number of dots:)

The song is on their 4th album.

No guesses yet. Ok this song is from an artist rather than a band. It is his first album released in 1986. The title track of this album employs a compositional technique described as pitch axis theory. Also this artist has been an instructor to some famous guitarists most notably Steve Vai.
Oh and by the way , this song is not the title track of the album.

seeing as how jstcrsn has left it open for anyone else I thought I'd participate. Here is a short song intro that I used to listen to when I was in high school.
