Great! What other bands do you mean? As R.E.M. has a very unique style I don't really know what other bands you reffer... 90's pop rock?

Hi Bill! Thanks for your reply and for letting me also know your current level. This is very important because you won't find useful a level 9 lesson in the style of Paul Gilbert. smile.gif

What if you made a in the style of Paul Gilbert riffing, that shouldn't be at a level 9 tongue.gif, he have made alot of songs where he just plays guitar and sings tongue.gif, of course most of them has a killer solo too smile.gif, but yeah I bet most people want to play solo wise like Paul Gilbert, but in my opinion I just love the way he plays tongue.gif

But I had another request and that was if you maybe could something in the style of Paul Gilbert just riff wise, something like the song Fuzz Universe (the start), and the riffing after that part, and maybe something like the song Down to Mexico, I love the stuff thats played in the start smile.gif

Cheers!

yeah, he has really cool riffing section! I remember him saying in different interviews (referring to his guitar work with Mr Big) that sometimes he found more difficult to play rhythm than shred solos (he is a lucky guy! laugh.gif).
Both songs are really good and I understand what are you looking for. smile.gif

Have you checked this lessons?

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/gilber...ong_first_part/

I know that it's a bit difficult but maybe you could start practicing it using the slower backings.

thanks again for the requests!

Yeah he is a lucky guy ^^, this lesson sounds great, I'll probably save it for later smile.gif, when I'm closer to that level smile.gif, thanks smile.gif

Yeah pretty much pop rock, but you're right, REM do have their own sound. What I was trying to get across was a lesson that offered the layered guitar sound of REM: chords strummed on acoustics, chords arpeggiated on electrics or acoustics and so forth biggrin.gif

ahh ok! I understand what you mean know. It's amazing to hear the textures that you create when you sum many guitar layers. I'll explore this in a lesson!
