GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Minor/major

Posted by: MisterM Feb 28 2015, 07:28 PM

Hi

I like blues and other style, but I prefer to focus on the blues

I learned Stéphane Lucarrelli ‘s lesson : http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Mixolydian-Triads/
My rec here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwddOBFmqVI

I learn also : http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Jazz-Funk-Licks-II/
My work is for the moment 80% max, I work all the day because I'm stuck for lack of speed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o9BX77i-f4

Actually, I learn the Jacob’lesson : http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Blues-Beyond-The-Minor-Pentatonic/
it’s very good for me… I’ll post my rec soon…. I'll add a jam, you'll watch my mistake....
I begin to feel things as transition major and minor pentatonic……

Jacob explains things in his videos, but I don't understand English very well sad.gif
Today I play feeling and I don't know the rules ...
How to know when to play a major and minor ?

Salut,

Hi MisterM! We cannot write other languages than English here bu maybe reading some stuff and using the text with any translator can help. Blues progressions are one of the exception since it has major and dominant chords but allow the use of Pentatonic scales over them, so it can create some kind of confusion.

I recommend you to give a look at this thread where all the theory behind improvising over blues backing tracks is revealed:

http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=50470

and it would be also helpful if you check my improvisation course, starting with the blues modules: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_forum/index.php?showtopic=42832&view=findpost&p=700763. You'll find lesson notes and the live video lesson to be replayed.

Please check both links and let me know if you need some help following the explanations there.
