I turned my PA speaker on today and it seems to be buzzing. Not the group loop sort. Let me explain:

The buzz is in the woofer, and seems to happen when playing the lower notes on my guitar. It's not clipping, there are no clipping lights on anywhere. I know it's the speaker, because I can plug other stuff into it and it will make the buzz once it reaches a certain volume. I've played around with the gain staging a lot, but regardless of where in the chain I turn up the volume, the distortion kicks in at the same volume.

If anyone has thoughts, please let me know

I forgot to add that the buzzing seems to be worse on some days than others, leading me to think that it has to do with the temperature or something :\ I'm no expert, but I'm planning on opening up the PA speaker to see if anything is loose or something...

I'm not the expert on this stuff, but I think your problem might be related to the electricity power grid in your house. It might be creating the buzz you are hearing and if the electricity is overloaded or something (like using AC, strong heater or some kind of fan), the speaker can pick up the interference and buzz. For example, my monitor speakers start buzzing when I turn on the respirator fan above the stove.

The bass speaker may also just have worked a little loose - so check that the allen bolts are tight.
