First Jam Session, and it was awesome

Jan 16 2008, 03:19 AM	GMC:er Posts: 493 Joined: 15-October 07 From: Pennsylvania	Ok so I just started playing guitar this past summer, mainly working on building up speed/playing pentatonics up and down the neck and such. and late last year, i think it was october, I convinced my roomate to get a guitar, he did. and he learned a few songs. so today he was playing Collide by Howie Day. And I decided to figure out what key it was in, and attempted to improvise over it, playing strictly pentatonics. I dont know how it happened but I just played whatever I felt like and it sounded awesome. at least it did while I was playing, I'm sure I wouldn't think so if I went back and heard a recording lol. anyway this was probably the most gratifying expierience I've had playing the guitar, It was awesome anyone wanna reminisce (sp?) about the first time they were able to jam with someone? We would play some simple rock n roll and improvise the solo. Me and my friend, who is also a guitar player, would trade back and forth solos, double stops, lots of riff arrangements and other fun things. When I first played guitar during my teens I was able to jam with some friends of mine - even had the stereotypical garage band. It was so much fun.
