Hey all I just purchased a new PC yesterday! I can finally start doing some recording and participate in the collabs on GMC. Not only that, but finally be able to check GMC at home rather than at work.

Lucky... I want a new one but the chances of getting a new one is worse than having a G3 concert in my living room

Thanks all! I need to get Cubase installed and I still could use a better sound card. I'm thinking about picking up a Emu USB sound card.

I think I'll have to post up a gear question on the other part of the forum, because I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to need to start doing some guitar recording. But at least I have the PC part!

Ivan,

One of the things I am looking forward to actually is working on your collabs. I was hoping I could make it for the blues one, but I'll have to wait till you or another member starts a new one.

What I need help with is getting some software to record. I think I saw a post on the gear forum about freeware multitrack recording. I just need somethingn cheap or free that will let me import the collab mp3s and record my guitar parts. Also I have a on-board sound card - I need to figure out how to get the guitar in to the PC. I'm assuming I could get a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and eventually get an EMU USB sound card for better quality.
