My name is Tim and I suffer from AOGS - Adult Onset Guitar Syndrome.
I'm 46 and live in Denver, Colorado. I've always wanted to play guitar, but something else always came up. During a mid-life crisis moment, I decided that I was finally going to learn. I bought a cheap guitar and quickly swapped it out for a better cheap guitar (love the 30 day return policy). A week later and I was back trading up again. It was still a cheap one - Epi Les Paul Studio, but much nicer than the first two.
I was following some lessons on YouTube, checked out some other lesson sites and felt I had the basics okay, but was missing something. Even though I was picking up the guitar everyday, I wasn't feeling inspired like I thought I should. I finally decided it was the "beginner" guitar. I thought if I had something "pro" quality, I would be more enthused.
I'm more a fan of Carlos Santana (not the latin part, but the lyrical tone). My daughter really likes Orianthi. Both play PRS Guitars, so I decided to check them out. The first time I picked up an American-made PRS Custom 24, I knew this was the one for me. Every time I pick it up, I am excited about playing it and wanting to really be able to play it.
I stumbled across this site looking for some lessons to play Europa. The lessons where great, so I decided to check out the rest of them. I'm looking forward to working my way through the other lessons and doing the new guitar justice.
When I'm not working or practicing, I'm either running or snowboarding. I do live in Colorado after all.
