I Need Help Finding An Amp With The Sound Im Looking For

Jan 9 2009, 01:16 AM	GMC:er Posts: 1.164 Joined: 23-October 08 From: Fremont, CA	yeah, usually i am against these kind of subjective threads, but because im too busy to go try anything out...i need you guys to help me! lucky you! ok so first things first: budget = around 700...ill go higher if you find me something deliciously awesome that i cant resist, but lets stay in the 700 limit range it has to be from this site: Zzounds.com It needs to be some what versatile...good cleans...now hear is the catch... It either needs to have a good lead channel (one where i wouldnt need to use pedals) OR it can be an amp that would sound really good running a multi effects pedal through...now if im going to be doing this...the limit for the amp would be $600 (not including the multi pedal of course) THIS I PREFER (i just like the ease of multi effects pedals, and ive been able to dial in good tones with them) it doesnt need to be tube, but if its solid state, its gotta deliver... wattage isnt so much important...and i really dont care if its a stack or a 2X12, but i would prefer a higher watt 2x12 for easy carrying around (plus shipping isnt free on stacks) now onto the sound stuffs i really am looking for a modern tight tone....i dont like the grainy distortion of the vintage amps, but more of the smooth tight distortion of the modern day amps (if that makes any sense) some examples would be petrucci, michael romeo, vai, satch.... i hope you guys can help because i have no time to research or anything! aiieeee thanks for your time!! And also I would spend as much as possible on an amp, even if it hurts your wallet. Vypyr 60 if you want tubes. Have only heard sound clips of it and it sounds like a bunch of fun.
