yeah, usually i am against these kind of subjective threads, but because im too busy to go try anything out...i need you guys to help me!

lucky you!

ok so first things first:

budget = around 700...ill go higher if you find me something deliciously awesome that i cant resist, but lets stay in the 700 limit range

it has to be from this site: Zzounds.com

It needs to be some what versatile...good cleans...now hear is the catch...

It either needs to have a good lead channel (one where i wouldnt need to use pedals)

OR it can be an amp that would sound really good running a multi effects pedal through...now if im going to be doing this...the limit for the amp would be $600 (not including the multi pedal of course) THIS I PREFER (i just like the ease of multi effects pedals, and ive been able to dial in good tones with them)

it doesnt need to be tube, but if its solid state, its gotta deliver...

wattage isnt so much important...and i really dont care if its a stack or a 2X12, but i would prefer a higher watt 2x12 for easy carrying around (plus shipping isnt free on stacks)

now onto the sound stuffs

i really am looking for a modern tight tone....i dont like the grainy distortion of the vintage amps, but more of the smooth tight distortion of the modern day amps (if that makes any sense)

some examples would be petrucci, michael romeo, vai, satch....

i hope you guys can help because i have no time to research or anything! aiieeee

thanks for your time!!

The amps I wanted to suggest you are not available from that store (maybe not even in America?) as it's a hughes and kettner...

And also I would spend as much as possible on an amp, even if it hurts your wallet. I went for the *let's buy the less expensive amp although it doesn't sound as good* way and I am very unhappy with it...

Well, since ZZounds doesn't carry Carvin (and its also about $1200), i can't recommend you the beastly Carvin V3...
other than that, I second everything in Ivan's post, especially the Bugera.

right now i think its a battle between the bugera and the vyper....

i like the pedal that i could get with the vyper..i hear the bugera 333xl arent very reliable but i think i like the sound better

I just watched some clips on YT, and I think Bugera has much better sound. Peavey sounds too digital and flat.

Like mentioned before I think the Vypyr would be great for you, built in effects will sound a lot better than running a multi fx pedal through. Vypyr 60 if you want tubes.
Have only heard sound clips of it and it sounds like a bunch of fun.

I also think that the Bugera amps sound just great but I'd never get one cause of questionable build quality. sad.gif
