I did a cover on this song, original tempo is 180 bpm I think tho I played at around 215 bpm, it's more fun but still you can understand everything that has been played, at least I hope so!

I guess the idea is not to think of recording at all, you have to be 100% in what you play and not that much around.

Sounded like the bumble bee on nitrous oxide... Just awesome feel for whatever you play Muris. Thanks again for the motivation! It would be cool to see that AJ cover!

To be honest I don't think it was really Muris's skillz....I think it was his "magic MK" that he has on loan. How much did say that MK was Muris......and what is shipping to Oregon?
Posted by: UncleSkillet Apr 22 2009, 01:10 AM
Ok, that was great Muris! Now I am going to curl up into the corner, suck on my thumb, look at my guitar and wonder why its taken me this long to play 32 note at 85bpm.
Awesome man, just awesome
Posted by: Artemus Apr 22 2009, 02:42 AM
Muris: For goodness sake! STOP IT I'm not going to watch any more videos of you playing with flawless technique and musicianship. It's RUINING what little ego I have left!! Haha
Seriously though, that was fantastic playing and it's encouraging to hear you humbly say that this is down to hard work and it is inspiring to watch.

Thank you!!
I actually learned this song like 14 years ago (by ear, yeah ) but not entirely tho, I didn't know the ending so I took music score (not the tab) to see what's going on in there. Many players use different fingerings and positions all around the neck and so I did the same, adapted it to myself.

Not sure of tempo Petrucci used tho, he also rearranged it a lot if I remember correctly, changed lots of notes/ kind of improvised, gonna search his take on Youtube. It's the one from a concert, there is no studio version, right?
