Nice read, thanks for the link. The tip that stood out the most to me was "Don't try to play everything you know in one solo." Simple concept but I think I make that pitfall sometimes.

i also , try to find the most powerful vocal line in the song , and see if i can fit that in somewere to give the solo the same passion of the song

I would say that imagining it first and even singing it first before attempting to record can create interesting results,

the other thing is to erase any part at any time! don't fall in love with any part unless it's really true love! pfff biggrin.gif you know what I mean
