Very interesting read! I suggest everyone look at that!
http://www.jazzbooks.com/miva/documents/ha...te_interest.pdf In fact there's not "26" things.. just noticed it was the 26th item of a sequence. But nevertheless, very useful things to keep in mind. -------------------- LIVE FOR STEEL - DIE FOR STEEL!!!

Nice read, thanks for the link. The tip that stood out the most to me was "Don't try to play everything you know in one solo." Simple concept but I think I make that pitfall sometimes. My Pleasure! Have a look at the other pages too! Endless source of information! It complements well Mr. Cockburn's lessons! http://www.jazzbooks.com/miva/documents/handbook/ -------------------- LIVE FOR STEEL - DIE FOR STEEL!!!

But nevertheless, very useful things to keep in mind. i would like to add . i also , try to find the most powerful vocal line in the song , and see if i can fit that in somewere to give the solo the same passion of the song |

The solo is a story in another story. just connect the both stories and you will have a beautiful song.

very good points! all true
I would say that imagining it first and even singing it first before attempting to record can create interesting results, the other thing is to erase any part at any time! don't fall in love with any part unless it's really true love! pfff you know what I mean -------------------- Visit my:
