Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Doom Metal For Beginners by Lian Gerbino

Hello again, sorry for spamming ! :D This is the exact same take as before but I simply corrected the bad sync between audio and video, will definitly have to be careful with that in the future...

This is a very good take! The only comment that I have is that your timing should be a bit tighter in the palm muting sections. If you can, create a loop with that section and practice your palm muting technique concentrating on playing tight with the backing.
Well done man!

Wow this is a pleasant surprise! smile.gif
Great to see a first take from you.

Overall this is a very good take. I would suggest concentrating on the groove/beat. It seems that you are playing slightly in front of the beat/drums throughout the video. You should just back off a little and play on the beat exactly or even slightly behind it (drums first - then you). Usually that is where the "pocket" is found and then the tune will groove. Very cool video quality BTW! smile.gif

Very good playing, good tone and palm muting. The problem is with timing it should be dead on the drums. You are usually playing it ahead of the beat.
