Working With Music

Lately I've been thinking a lot of my future, mostly because I'm finishing the upper secondary school in half a year, and I need to decide before that what I want to do after. I know I want to keep studying, but there is so much to choose between. And, while I see myself having a lot of different choices, I've been thinking a lot about if there would be anything I could do that's related to music somehow. I've noticed how much time and effort I put into playing the guitar and other things related to music, so why not work with something music related?

But what is there to work with that's related to music other than the obvious things such as studio musician, music teacher, rock star of doom, record/intstrument shop owner, founder of great instructional websites, etc? I basically don't know a lot about this, and I figured that somebody here would know, at least more than I do about it. smile.gif

First you must not worry so much man. Seriously! smile.gif Life is beautifull and you really don`t have the time to spend on worries. I know what you are talking about. I can give you the advice to stay in school. Any kind of school. If you wanna be in a music buisness stay in some type of music school. If you missed that school, try something else that you find interesting. Don`t worry if you don`t see yourself on that job in the next x years. Life is strange and you can end up in some funny places after a while. You never know wink.gif

As far as music buisness concerns, i would recommend taht you play your guitar as much as you can. Competition in the place you live is great and people are always and everywhere trying to do the best they can if they wanna succed. If you practise consistetnly every day, you can show that knowlogde to someone and maybe you`ll get a job, do some gigging, employ in a music store or do some lessons. You must be good in order to play guitar professionaly. Find a band, work on your own material, know themusic scene, go on gigs, interact with other musicians, find your style, learn the rules of the music buiseness. I must warn you, that path is always diffivult. Very few had the luck to succeed with a small amount of effort. So be happy and play your guitar, go to school, and things will work out trust me. They always do smile.gif
