Dio is a huge vocalist in my book. And falling off the edge of the world has the cooles riff ever, the song is built up in a fantastic way. That one makes me shiver!! cool.gif

THANK YOU for posting, havn't listened to it for a long time wink.gif

I agree. How that guy writes those vocal melodies is unbelievable....

Posted by: Gabriel Leopardi Jan 21 2009, 03:10 PM

I'm always amazed of the fact that DIO has kept his voice in perfect conditions after all these years.
His voice is awesome.

Posted by: Mandos Jan 21 2009, 03:15 PM

Yes, it's amazing that Dio's voice is as good as it was 1957 when he started out.

laugh.gif exactly... did he started his career in 1957? or he was born that year? blink.gif

He's born 1942.

QUOTE
Dio's musical career began in 1957 when several Cortland, New York musicians formed the band The Vegas Kings, which soon changed their name to Ronnie and the Rumblers. This band's lineup had Padavona on the bass guitar, along with singer Billy de Wolf, guitarist Nick Pantas, drummer Tom Rogers, and saxophone player Jack Musci.

Wow Jeremy what a coincidence!

Man when I was in 6th grade, one of my friends gave me a compilation tape, and on that there was a song that I loved, and listened to over and over again, but I didnt know whose tune it was. After a while I lost that tape, and now I realise that it was actually Dio-Falling Off the Edge of The World! Now I will but that Black Sabbath album! He, he you rock man!

Cheers smile.gif

Awesome dark voice! One of the greatest rock vocals of all time! smile.gif

Posted by: Marcus Siepen Jan 29 2009, 01:11 PM

He chose his name for a reason, he IS god smile.gif My fave singer ever, no matter if he was with Rainbow, Sabbath or Solo, this guy just rules and still is one of the most friendly and humble people in the whole business.

Here is another awesome one.

"Die Young"

LOVE the guitar intro by Iommi. He is a very underrated lead player in my opinion. TONS of feel in this.

Anyone that doesnt have this Heaven & Hell DVD is sorely missing out on a GREAT concert.

Cheers jer. I'm really looking forward to see them live this summer and I really need to order that dvd. biggrin.gif
