hey GMC;ers!!!
A huge great big Happy Christmas to you all.
A few weeks ago I approached Jeff (Uncleskillet) to collaborate on a Christmas tune to post for you guys, at first we discussed maybe rockin up and covering a christmas song but in the end decided to write our own tune!
We asked the great Andrew Cockburn for some help with production, I think you`ll agree he did a fantastic job, he also put the vid together for us, which I hope you enjoy as much as we did making it!
so without any more waffling from me here it is!!
My thanks to Jeff and to Andrew, its been excellent fun and just shows what you can do even if you do live thousands of miles apart.
all the best guys and happy christmas!!
C`mon Santa!
There I was Just a rockin it Steady Here comes the solo so you better get ready Gunna mix it up, I wont let you down Now I`ve broke a string, When is Santa coming to town
Are you ready, c`mon lets go Are you ready for Rock and roll Are you ready c`mon lets go Grab your coats lets head out to the snow
C`mon Santa No I dont want socks and bloomers this year C`mon Santa C`mon and show me some christmas cheer C`mon Santa I`m not even asking for real cool gear C`mon santa All I want is picks and strings this year
We shredded licks, and worked it out the crowd loved it there was no doubt and then came silence, this feelings strange I turned around and then I began to feint
bridge etc

Mate, the last solo is beautifully composed. Ive heard it a few times now. Also, what did you use to lay out the drum track .. It came out very good.

thank you, I pretty much improvised it at the time though, I used EZ Drummer for the drums but I believe Andrew used a different drum plug in for the final mix

Toontracks Superior 2.0, although Chris actually composed the drum track.

thanks Ivan, and thanks everyone, Andrew did a whole lot more than put the vid together, he mixed the whole thing and made it sound the way it did & worked wonders with the vocals!
