Original lesson: http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Bendy-Blues/
Hey there mate.
First impression at the very beginning of your take is the bending pitch problem. It's not a regular issue in your playing while the rest of the take sound ok - even the wicked "two-level" bend that happens later. You've got nice feel/touch and dynamics range in your hand but remember to not "overscream" that blues. Blues has huge bite and emotions in it - it's easy to get lost and sort of "overreact" while playing. For me you could go for more contrast - you handle shard and strong notes very well - now try to expose those soft ones a bit more...in other words "controll the beast in you" when you let yourself flow into the track's mood For example - vibrato can bee fast and wide....for my teaste you slightly "over-widen" the vibrato
Very good timming on those specific "fast and short" responsive licks. Truly enjoyed the take
Hi mate, nice to find this one also at REC.
As I've already told you at the mentoring thread, your playing is really good on this one. There is still room to make this one sound even more expressive and the answer is on your vibrato and the way you manage bending. If you analyze the original lesson you'll notice that bends are not all the same, some of them are slower, while some others faster, some are picked softer, etc... something similar happens with vibrato, which can be wider, smaller, faster, slower.... Your playing is good and groovy, just pay more attention to these details and your playing will improve.
Keep on the good job!
I'm going to be the odd one out here because I loved your take. Aggressive blues!
Your bending and vibrato seemed very controlled to me, they're full of energy that's all - but controlled energy.
The fact that we can hear string & pick noise because of your camera audio also makes it sound more aggressive than it would be if we were to hear separately recorded audio so I don't think there's a problem from my viewpoint.
Being able to be soft when needs be is definitely a must but in this case, I didn't feel bombarded by inappropriate aggression
