Well its been 6 monthes now sence i have joined this site...........I have allways been a rythem guitar player and bass and a drummer for a few years..............but never could solo to save my life...so i came here in hopes of getting it together a bit.....well i have learned alot thats for sure thru the 3 instructors i felt could build me a style of all my own.........macus lavendell ,, pavel and last but not least muris.....Im trying to break my very bad habit of playing like a machine..........basicaly meaning....being able to play everyone elses stuff and not haveing any creativity of my own....probly due to playing in way to many cover tune bands....

I decided to use the b minor backing track from muris cause i allways find myself practicing scales..... to the backing tracks i learned them from.......and this is basical my b minor scale work out riff that i came up with.................pretty basic but im trying to set myself free lol but my controll is getting alot better

and as allways any comments are allways welcome

it seems you progressed a lot in these six months smile.gif

some speed parts you play faster then you're still able, but just keep practicing, you're on the right track wink.gif

the only thing i don't like in the recording is too much distortion smile.gif

I agree with Dejan a little, I think it`d sound nicer with slightly less gain on the distortion, but apart from that I liked it, its the sort of thing I do, improv techniques that I`m currently working on into a backing track, makes it more interesting that way. Nice one smile.gif

thanks for the compliment yeah i was going to do a clean solo and then just reamp it for controll of over all sound...but at the last second i was just like ahhhhhhhhh...its mainly just for the playing...so i just stuck with what i had going on at that point in time...................but thanks again for listening and thank you for the compliments

thank you for you kind words .........yeah im trying to get past the finger tie ups on string skipping,,,,but im alot better than i was.........i try to make up small scale solos to practice string skipping with....I think it is helping.........But i think the main thing that seems to be working is writeing the solo.........and to olnly play it that way and not just note hunt..................thanks once again for listening and your compliments

I missed the thread,sorry sad.gif

Nice improvisation over backing, timing and accuracy can be better in picking parts
but tapping part went quite good, well done!! smile.gif

Also I noticed note G in first picking section,fingering from G string (S H)
pushed you to play same on D string, which is Bb Dorian.
There you go,another scale in the pocket wink.gif

Good progress so far, keep it up and us updated!! smile.gif

thank you muris for you kind words and tips.....yeah this lead stuff with timeing im finding is kind of in a world of its own...........I find lead is alot different then rythem playing cause im allways looking for that down beat to base everything off from.... and lead is a combination of melody with a even flow of notes laying in a key based frame..... mixed into modes.....So right now as you pointed out.........My solo performance will get trapped and forces me to switch modes to try to stay in key.I think as my writeing skills progress along with my alternate picking.............I will be a pretty good guitar player but it seems as though hard work is starting to pay off ...........................thank you once again for shareing your input it means alot......................but look out here i come muris laugh.gif ....................keep up the great work with you inspireing lesson they are awsome .......
