GMC Forum _ PRACTICE ROOM _ Near future of GMC

Posted by: Kristofer Dahl Oct 6 2006, 02:29 PM

Hey!
I have been buzy lately checking up all sorts of different improvements I want to implement for GMC.

The things I'll be mentioning here aren't all 100.00 % sure - but I am quite confident we'll get them. List in predicted chronological order.

- A new forum, I have asked my "porgrammer" to implement a new forum (invision board). This will allow for all sorts of new interactions, feedback right under the lessons, rating system etc.

- A beginner video lesson section - this will contain all the required background information for the beginner to understand the more advanced lessons of GMC. The section will hopefully also be useful for more advanced guitarists who might have some theoretical "gap" (or whatnot). This section will not interfer with the regular updates.

- Guest lessons - I am looking for pro guitarists here in Stockholm to come and help me out with the content.

- A seperate backing track section with some very special extra features (haven't verfied they are technically possible yet - but if they are, it will be a very cool jamming section).

Let me know what you think + maybe other suggestions...?

Rock on! smile.gif

Holy guitar heaven Batman!!!! :shock
That sounds great!!!! All of those sound awesome!!!! Ratings, and comments right under the lesson sounds great. I'm very interested in the jamming section, sounds really cool.
Only thing I'm worried about is the new forum, I like having only members on the forum. I don't really like forums any web-surfer can post on because then there is too much hate, and this forum has a real positive, encouraging feel. But besides for that the changes sound great!!!
I have a suggestion, how about a reference section, like a place that has diagrams of scales, chords and all their voicings, the circle of fifths and stuff like that, for reference.

it all sounds great!
my only wish would be more "in the style of" lessons, i love them.

We won't have that - it is only supposed to get better! smile.gif

I believe that as lessons are being added we will definately have more "in the style of" as well as theory reference lessons.

I like it!

Do you have an estimate of how soon this will be implemented? ^^

btw
What's a "porgrammer"?  Was that a typo? :shock Just wondering, cause if he is a porgrammer this site may turn to something very different and that would work against it's purpouse :shock  :!:

I am hoping this week or the next but ultimately I am not the one who decides...

No it's my porn-gammer (see above) . I asked him today and he sais by the end of this week or the next. Before we can implement anyething new there is usually a lot of testing being done - just as with the guitar everything new you try seems to screw up a couple of time at first... biggrin.gif Sorry for the language.

As for my gal - I am the boss! >:< All though she has been away for a while (hence the beard!) biggrin.gif

DUDE!
You can do better than that! laugh.gif

Nice site ideas, I like the breakdown of sections.

I enjoy a couple of other forums where we post our own recordings. Not everyone takes the time to listen to other people's efforts, but I like to listen, and post supportive feedback.

Indeed, this is a supportive forum! I havent seen a rude, unsupportive post yet! biggrin.gif

It's a good idea and I think it's been mentioned by other gmc:ers. We'll have a seperate board for that! biggrin.gif
