I also think the neck is the reason. Some people are comfortable with that neck and can play crzay fast stuff that sounds really good. You might need some time to get used to it.

+1 on the neck. It's probably thicker than your strat.
I was used to play on my Sg, now that I got a Strat I feel more comfortable because the neck is thinner. -------------------- Guitars:

It's the difference in neck and also probably the difference in scale lenght that makes it take a while to get used to.
Stratocasters have wider frets so to speak than les paul models. It's all a matter of getting used to it. -------------------- Guitars: Schecter Stiletto Classic, Jackson SLSMG, Ibanez RG-380 Japan, Gibson Les Paul Studio

Possibly the action is a bit higher, and you haven't got used to your new guitar enough to be able to play fast. Give it some time and adjust the guitar, and it will work nicely
