Hi mate! That's a very cool goal! What do you think that you are lacking to be able to write something in this style?

I would say technically ability, prog vocabulary , and how to create pieces of music with structures etc..
I’m very new to using DAW and recording/mixing ,

Creating the music is more important to me than production quality at this stage tho.

Ok, the best way to get into this is to analyze and learn to play some of their music. Could you please make a list with 5/10 favorite tracks by them?

Nice list!! The first two ones are my favorites from this style. Intervals music is also very enjoyable for me.

I would take the first two songs and analyze them very deeply. As a first step, to then try to make some music using the concepts learnt from them, what do you think?

I've tried to study the plini song as much as i could follow.
from what I've heard hes build the sons from is :

minor key
plays Dorian leads/melody's
the chords in the intro have a call and response to each other. the first chord is like mother shouting and listening for a response with a little vibrato and the other chords meld into each of as chordal harmony.

a lot of his rhythm playing is textured with light playing and heavy louder sections with palm mutes and odd time signatures .
the chords are quite simple as there power chords mainly the rhythmic value is different every other bar to create a sort of djenty feel

the whole melody and lead is all one scale but he utilizes as much of the guitar as he can to convey a variety of sound/expressions

apologies I've not had much time on it.

I've been working on a piece of music from what I've took away from this study
the lead stuff hasn't been done yet tho
its only on guitar pro atm

Matt

Hi mate!

Nice! The song analysis should be inspiring for you so it's ok to do it as deep as you want. There is a lot of information in your current analysis that can be applied for your music. Feel free to do the same thing with the second song from your list.

Regarding your idea... it sounds promising! Do you have more ideas on how to continue it? If not, I recommend you to add drums and other instruments to see if inspiration appears.

Have you seen these series?

Hi mate! This sounds promising! The key is not keep working on new stuff, polishing it, working on structure and so.

I would add Bass guitar to this one, and work a bit more drums as a first next step. What's your plan?
